![]() Slay the Spire is available now on Android and all major consoles, including PC. You just have one more reason to play in both platforms! The UI may seem troublesome at times, but the moment you try it on Android, it is unlikely you will go back to a console for it. Your console or PC progress will have to stay where they are, but hey, that’s not a bad thing. Let me add as well that while cross-save is not present, cloud saves are indeed a thing and you can transfer progress between mobile devices with ease. Spending a couple of hours on the couch, or some short game sessions? Both cover those needs, and for the price of $9.99 on Android, it is certainly worth every penny. They are equally enjoyable, depending on what you are looking for. ![]() Seriously, the game was meant to be played on a mobile device, without even hindering the console entries. To put it simply, if you liked Slay the Spire on consoles, there is nothing not to like about this release. Especially the theme of Act 2, really dragged me into this world. I didn’t notice it at first, but the developers made an excellent and fitting background loop for each act. I barely wear them when I’m playing on a console, but this time because of them, I really listened to the perfect ambient music of the game, and it further enhanced my time with it. I could only think of one reason why that is, and it seems that I was truly immersed to this world due to my headphones. If the player does not have all three keys, Act 4 will be inaccessible and the player's run will be forced to end, resulting in the normal Victory? screen.Something that I found interesting in regards to this mobile port, is that I appreciated the music of the game way more than when I experienced it in my Xbox, back in the day. Once all three keys have been collected, the player must defeat the Act 3 boss to advance to Act 4. Using the same seed and making the same decisions always results in the same outcomes. However, every random event in a run of Slay the Spire is still determined by the game seed, which can be found on the top right of the screen in-game. Once the Sapphire Key is taken, it will no longer appear in non-boss chests for the rest of the run. Randomness and seeds in Slay the Spire are much more complicated than they are in Minesweeper. The Sapphire Key is linked to the Relic that normally appears in the chest - the player may only take either the Relic or the Sapphire Key. ![]() The Sapphire Key can be obtained through any non-boss chest. The special Elite encounter will not appear again once the player has obtained the Emerald Key for the rest of the run. Defeating a special Elite will reward the player with the normal Elite payout plus the Emerald Key. A special Elite counter is marked with flames on the spire map and will only appear once per Act. The Emerald Key is obtained by defeating a buffed Elite. Once the Ruby Key is obtained, the recall option will not be available until the next run. The Ruby Key is obtained by using the recall option at a rest site. To unlock Act 4, three Keys must be collected throughout the course of a game: the Ruby Key, the Emerald Key, and the Sapphire Key. Note that beating the game with the Watcher is not required to access Act 4. Once this is done, the player will be able to access Act 4 and start collecting the required keys an unfilled triangle will appear to the left of the player's name to indicate that they are able to collect the keys. To access Act 4, the player must first beat the game (defeat the Act 3 boss) at least once with the Ironclad, the Silent, and the Defect. As such, unless the player has specific relics such as Peace Pipe or Shovel, their options are limited to the rest site and the merchant's offerings. ![]() Floor 55 is always a boss battle against the Corrupt Heart.Floor 54 is always an Elite encounter against the Spire Shield and Spire Spear. This Act spans from floor 52 to floor 55, which is the final floor of a non- Endless game: The simple, predictable nature of Act 4 means that the player can build a deck around defeating the Corrupt Heart early in the game, as the only true source of randomness in Act 4 is what the merchant will sell.ĭespite its predictability, Act 4 is easily the toughest Act for unprepared players it contains a resting site placed against the player's favor, a notoriously difficult Elite encounter, one merchant, and what is arguably the strongest boss in the entire game. A final boss fight against the Corrupt Heart. An Elite encounter against the Spire Shield and Spire Spear.Unlike every other Act, Act 4 is unique in that it forces the player down a single path, which will always be the following rooms in order: Notice the triangular symbol in the top left corner. Act 4 is a bonus Act that can only be accessed through repeated gameplay - it is not accessible until the player has beaten the game with every character minus the Watcher.Īn image of the Act 4 map.
